Exploring Castilla-La Mancha

50 Best Explores is a video series which aims to showcase a region's culinary landscape through the eyes of a 50 Best listed chef.

The third instalment of this series saw chef Jeremy Chan explore what the region of Castilla-La Mancha had to offer. I was asked to edit a set of videos for this episode, which included a trailer (below), a blooper reel and a full length episode, in both landscape and portrait format. These were accompanied by an Instagram Story teaser.

Strategy

Filming of this episode took place over the course of 5 days, so the challenge that presented itself to me was organising a large amount of footage into an optimised set of videos, with a relatively tight turnaround.

When assembling the narrative around the chef's interview, I was impressed by his soulful nature, which, combined with the broody autumnal weather, set the mood for the overall deliverables, resulting in a slow-paced and soft tone.

With a clear structure in mind, a smooth workflow and great briefing from the production team, the result is an engaging set of videos highlighting the best aspects of the culinary trip.
