About the brand

Development

When developing the visuals for this year’s festival, the branding needed to immediately convey the supernatural, fantasy theme while working across diverse touchpoints.

For the artwork, I decided I wanted to reference a classic supernatural film, a nod to John Alvin’s iconic "ET" poster. However since AI is the special focus of this edition, I replaced the alien hand with a robot’s, symbolizing the human-AI connection.

For the retro-futuristic, comic book style, I turned to Andrew Fairclough's design style for inspiration and took his “True Grit” Skillshare course, which I highly recommend for its hands-on approach. The result is a design that captivates genre fans and works seamlessly across assets.
